Words can give a thrill like music

Filmmaker and visual storyteller, Temujin Doran, has created a short video based on an archival sound recording taken from the 1945 Linguaphone series, “English Pronunciation: A Practical Handbook for the Foreign Learner.” What appeals to me is the sacramental quality of words and images. While you listen and watch, remember what C. S. Lewis wrote in a letter to Arthur Greeves: “Isn’t is funny the way some combinations of words can give you—almost apart from their meaning—a thrill like music?”
